Introduction
Evangelism refresher evening
Context:
At Kingscross, we believe that Jesus invites us into a mission bigger than ourselves: to make disciples and bring His good news to every person, everywhere. This isn’t just for those in formal ministry – it’s for all of us. God has placed you exactly where you are to share His love and His truth.
Over the last two years, we have been leaning into learning how to better share the good news of Jesus with those around us, and as a result, we have seen some amazing people join KC!
Over the next few months, there will be some natural opportunities to invite people to engage with our church community and explore faith:
- Our Christmas service
- Our KC ‘Summer of Fun’ social events
- Our next Alpha course (launching in February 2027)
What’s Alpha?
Alpha is a series of relaxed evenings designed to create space for people to ask questions, share stories and explore the Christian faith together.
Alpha is not a sales pitch, lecture or sermon – think of it more like an open-ended dinner-table discussion. Each week, you share food, watch a short video on a topic like “Is there more to life than this?” or “Who was Jesus?”, and then have space to ask questions or challenge ideas in a group setting.
Discussion
Plan for tonight:
In order to prepare ourselves well to live lifestyles of sharing the good news of Jesus, and to help us gear up to invite people along to some of the upcoming events, we will be watching part of a session by Sydney-based evangelist, cultural analyst and medical doctor Sam Chan.
Watch:
https://youtu.be/c8Wa4h_uRZY Please watch from 9:30 - 43:28 (33minutes)
Discuss:
- What stood out to you from this session?
- Which point would you most like to put into practice in the coming weeks? (Merge worlds, Go where they go, Coffee-Dinner-Gospel, Listen).
- Make a list of five people you would like to invite to an upcoming event. Next to each name, write one way you could deepen your relationship or conversation with that person in the next 3 months.
Pray:
For the people on your lists. For salvations. For people who have walked away from God to return to Him. For your own hearts to be filled with love and boldness as you engage with those who don't know Jesus yet.

About Table Communities
Table Communities are community gatherings for the purpose of:
- Building meaningful relationships through intentional time together
- Engaging in mutual discipleship through directing one another towards Christ with truth shared in love
- Multiplying grace through love, prayer and gifts of the spirit
The notes will guide you through praying together, reading scripture and engaging in intentional relational time together. There are also notes and practices for this month's habit of grace. We know that most groups will not have time to discuss the habit of grace during their time together, but they are available if time allows and are available for those seeking to intentionally engage with God's grace during the week. If that desire is within you, please read the notes on your own time or go through the habit of grace practices with a spiritual friend or your spouse, so as to build one another up in truth and love. Finally, this gathering is not about getting through all the note content, but rather this gathering is about building meaningful relationships, engaging in mutual discipleship and multiplying grace. Let those values shape the direction and pace of your time together.
Remember: What we all have in common
Saint : Beloved, forgiven, being renewed, filled with the Holy Spirit
Sufferer : Carrying real pain and struggle
Sinner: Still in need of ongoing grace and transformation
